Manufacturing Process
TerraFirme® is a handcrafted tequila, achieving in each bottle the perfect balance of the ancestral flavor of agave with an extraordinary lightness to be enjoyed in its purity or incorporated with elegant extravagance.
Certified cultivation of Webber Tequilana blue agave.
The agave is chopped and cooked for approx. 10 hours + 1 day to cool, so that it turns into fermented sugar.
The juice is extracted by hand, and the liquid is taken to tanks for 4-6 days where the sugar is transformed into alcohol.
1st Distillation, called ordinary distillation, where an alcohol content of approx. 22% alc. vol. is achieved.
2nd Distillation, called rectification, where Tequila is obtained.
The tequila is stored in white oak barrels for maturation: Reposado (3-12 months), Añejo (1-3 years) or Extra-Añejo (3 years or more).
After prior notification to the CRT, the Tequila is filtered, the alcohol content is adjusted and, if necessary, aromatic notes are added by Tequila Masters.
The Legend of the Hummingbird
Among all the precious birds of ancient Mexico, there is one that is small in size but with an enviable greatness of spirit.
In Maya it is called Xts’unu’um; in Nahuatl, huitzilin and in Spanish, colibrí.
The Mayan legend tells that once the creation of the world and life was completed, the gods assigned specific tasks to each living being. In the end, they noticed that an important task was missing… Who would carry the messages from beyond to men?
The Gods no longer had material to create life, so they decided to take a jade stone from which they carved a beautiful arrow and with a divine breath they transformed it into a hummingbird.
